This morning, my husband tells me that his colleague is coming and they're brainstorming on a project and would need my table so that he can hook up his laptop in our study room. The problem is my table is full of stuff. Beads, flowers, boxes, earring stands, containers, envelopes, stuff that is really
too long to describe. Last week I found all my stuff on the floor coz he and Mike needed the table. Well, at least they were treating it as a table and not a small storage place that it has become. So needing an idea for my very own space, Cindy sends me this idea from Martha Stewart's collection. Sigh. I wish! It's really pretty isn't it? I would stay in this room the whole day just beading. BUT first of all, I need a room and from the looks of it, it's not going to happen. My husband needs the study more than I do as I rarely bring work home. We agreed that the study was going to be his very own cave while the rest of the house i
s mine. All things considered, it's quite a fair deal. As for the storage of my beads, this is what she suggested. Two large shelves connected such that when not in use, it can be folded and closed. This is way way WAY too doll house pink for me although I like it that everything is within reach. Ok, enough wishful thinking for the morning. I'll just have to take a trip down to IKEA and get me some storage bins. And then maybe buy a winning 4D ticket so that we can move to a bigger place.

Singaporean breakfast
Still trying to figure out how to work out my egg timer and not having the patience this morning, I decided to take a trip to Ah mei for half boiled eggs instead. For our friends abroad, Ah Mei is one of the many cafes that sell 'breakfast food' the entire day. It's a little like IHOP with the pancakes. But over here, breakfast food is usually associated with kaya toast. A good kaya toast is one where the spread of coconut egg jam is sweet and the toast is grilled til it's crispy so when you bite into it, you experience the soft sweetness and the crispy exterior! Then there's also the Roti Prata that some people, like my husband, love to have for breakfast. It's made of dough, fat, egg, flour and served with curry. Needless to say, if you don't want to shorten your life, you really shouldn't have it every morning. But it tastes oh so good! A feast of eggs, toast, curry and tea is all it takes to give me a happy start and end to my day!

Cleopatra's 14k goldfilled hoops. Simple and chic. Mine to own if nobody wants it!
Red Wine. Faceted tear drop swarovski crystals. I love this shade of deep red. Simple and elegant enough for the royal family.
Esmeralder's made of swarovski cyrstal green wrapped in 14k gold filled. A gorgeous shade of green!
A ruby coloured version of Esmeralder.

Half boiled eggs
It's so difficult to get perfect half boiled eggs. It's my favourite thing to have for breakfast and I only have it during the weekends at Ya Kun or Toastbox where the eggs are half boiled to perfection. When I try to do it at home, I often end up with hard boiled eggs instead. I have a problem estimating the time required to get it just a little runny without it being over boiled. Half boiled eggs lovers would probably know what I am talking about. Just add a little dark soy sauce and pepper and mix it all up and then dip a piece of toast in there and voila! a taste of my version of heaven. So when I chanced upon this little egg timer at Howard's Storage World at Parkway, I just had to get it!! You dunk it in with your eggs and you boil them together and it doesn't matter how much water you put in there. A purple circle will appear, stopping at the point where it says hard, medium or soft and then you turn off the stove and it'll be what you want it to be. At least that's what it says on the little instruction sheet. Can't wait to give it a try.

Scent of Pine
I love this pair. I sold a similar pair a while ago but with these I wasn't sure if I wanted to let them go because I love the shade of these tear drop faceted prehnite biolettes. They are both in a different kind of green, each reminding me of a cool summer day. Years ago, the coffee place next to where I lived, made Pine on the Rocks which consisted of smooth blended ice with lime and what tasted like pine. It was the most amazing drink to have on hot summer afternoons. I'm finally letting these go and you can find them on etsy. All wires in 14k gold filled wires.

Dew Drops
I found these sterling silver chains and fell in love with them. It's as if someone had pain stakingly put the bits together allowing you to hang your gemstones neatly. It's pretty enough to be admired on its own. I decided to dress this with a freshwater pearl with baby swarovski pearls in primrose. Just below 5 cm from top of ear hooks. If you like pearls, this is a simple pair that can be worn everyday. All materials in sterling silver.

Lunch time talk
"Do you think we can die from lipstick?"
"Huh?"
"Well, I put lipstick on everyday and it's gone at the end of the day. So I guess I've been eating it right? Oh God I must have eaten like 10 kg of lipstick already, that can't be good coz I've heard there's lead in them. Is there lead in them? What if there's lead in them??? What if the effects will show in the future like if I have cancer of the lip or something like that and what about Bryan? I mean if we kiss, he might also die right? That can't be good right? Eating lipstick can't be good right? Right???"
"Yah"
"And?"
"And that's why I'm having the cheeseburger."

Maxi pleasure
These are my favourite chips at the moment. It says No Cholesterol but who cares, they are yummy yummy unstoppable tasty crunchy crunchy crinkly crinkly chips that you have to try if you hadn't already. Someone gave me a few bags of them and oh so heavenly, one bite and I kept them all to myself. But that someone forgot where she got them from, so I've now run out of supply. I think someone secretly bought every pack there was on the island and stored them away secretly.

Socks
Meet Socks. He is the neighbourhood cat. Socks eats. Socks sleeps. Socks yawns. Socks stretches. Socks gets help scratching his back. Socks rolls over and plays. Socks walks away. Socks chooses a spot and watches the world go by. On some days like today I want the life that is Socks.

Nevermind
I can't be left alone to wait for anyone in the shopping mall. Just give me a little time to be on my own and you'll see me with a bag of new purchase. Never mind that I have several pairs of shoes, never mind I bought 2 pairs last month (they were on sale, see where this is going?), never mind that the salesperson dismissed my reason for not owning this pair (yes, I should know better), and nevermind that I had 5 minutes to decide before I rushed off to the movies, I just had to get it. It's not my usual style as I prefer sandals and it's not like me to get the ones with fruits and flowers on them, at least I think that's what they are. But these are, oh so comfortable despite the height and they were going for S$12.90! These were from a shop at Ang Mo Kio hub. In my haste I didn't notice the name of the shop but 'ten toes' is inscribed in the shoe. There are several shops around the mall that have great bargains. If you're in the mood for shoes, and killing some time, take a look around. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Dyllon
I decided to deviate from my usual earring creations to make this simple no fuss everyday wear necklace (more like a choker actually, 38 cm in length). All materials in sterling silver. The pic at the top is incomplete as I tried to catch whatever natural light I could before leaving the house. The one below was the evening light. I haven't quite found out what is the perfect time and part of the house for my pictures yet but I do like my photos on rainy days. Must be the clouds filtering some of the glare and giving them a softer glow.

Baby jacket
How cute is this! I was looking for jackets for myself on etsy when I stumbled upon this one- jackets for apples. I guess it prevents the apple from having dents in them as they roll around in your lunch bag. Who'd have thought of this idea! Really cute! This one's from HandmaidenBC on etsy, check out her store for more colours!

Autumn in New York
There's just something about the chemistry between gold and reds and orange. This pair consists of chalcedony gemstones in sunset orange wrapped in gold filled wires. Handforged ear hooks also gold filled. Textured pewters in matt gold add a touch of sophistication to this pair.

Vanessa
I couldn't quite decide to go with the cool or warm shades and so decided to marry the two. Textured silver oval pewters and golden beryls define this style. All else in 14k gold filled wires. More gorgeous in real life.
