Similar to Elizabeth but with a softer tone because of the transluence of the tensha rose bead. Chic and pretty.

Natalie
I decided to design another black and white pair and I love these roses. They add a touch of quirkiness and elegance at the same time. Black faceted onyx briolettes hangs off them.

Opals
I had fun designing this pair. The opals have an interesting interplay of colours of blue and milky foam. A fresh water pearl hangs off to complete the elegant design. Long hand forged ear wires in sterling silver. Ear wires can be adjusted for length.

The Bazaar's last days
It was to be the last days of the Bazzar this weekend as the contract had expired and will not be renewed. It came as a sad surprise to me as I simply loved the atmosphere at the Bazaar- the shops, noise, food, the crowd which were the young adults after work, the families, the couples young and old, friends from near and far, the fancy dressers, the chic, the simple, and the artists and creators that were there this weekend.
Thanks to all who dropped by whether to chat or to take my creations home! Thanks to the father and daughter team from Down Under who made me laugh so hard (have a great trip in Egypt!). And Christina for having to be late for her dinner appt becasue she just had to drop by to get some. And the young man next door with his brollies (love them!) who made my stay there a pleasant one, and the young-at-heart on my left who prayed for good weather (it worked!). And Just Hobby who came by and wore my creations as she was manning her own lovely creations! And many more- thanks for dropping by.
Well, here's hoping that the organizers Lynette and Shawn would be able to extend this concept somewhere else. It was certainly well organized and a pleasant experience for many.

Little raincoats
I love these hill tribe silver beads which to me, are like little raincoats or maybe capes that fold gently around me when I have them on. A little freshwater pearl sits below. Sterling silver earwires complete it.

Helen of Troy
This is one of my favourite design at the moment. I had bought a reel of gold-filled wires and decided to experiment with them. All elements are handmade. Swarovski crystals and freshwater pearls. See A hint of Julia in sterling silver.

Rose tea
There's a new drink in town and it's my favourite at the moment. It's rose tea and you can taste the rose in the tea and it has just the right amount of sweetness. I'm not too big on those dried flowers where you can make tea and they sell them by the gram. It leaves a funny taste in my mouth but this is just right. If you like the Heaven and Earth series like I do then I think you'll like this.

Lizard!
Look what I stumbled on today, a large monitor lizard! At least that's what I think it was. It was taking a leisurely stroll down the tree and then of course, I had to whip up my camera and so it had to turn back and find another spot where it could not be disturbed. I wonder if it shares a past with the dinosaur. Pretty cool.

Jennifer Warnes
I was ramaging through my old stuff that belonged way back in uni and was pleasantly surprised to find Jennifer Warnes! I must have listened to this CD many many times and even now as I listen to her, a flood of pleasant emotions come rushing back. It was the year when I was away from home alone in a foreign country, a little lonely and missing home. Genivieve, my dorm mate in summer, got me listening to Jennifer Warnes while I tried to teach her how to play 'five stones'. Look, she said, you can't go through life not listening to Jennifer Warnes and so it was. I fell in love with her voice almost immediately and her songs always gave me a warm fuzzy feel especially during the winter nights.
It's amazing how songs can evoke a range of emotions in us, and each different from one person to the next. It was certainly a nice trip down memory lane tonight.

Nine to Five
This is a favourite pair of mine and a previous creation (except for the just-two pearls on this pair) as it was a pair that was often taken home by good owners :) It gives simple elegance to a work suit. Lantern shaped agate and swarovski pearls.

After dinner conversation
Husband has eyes stuck at the computer screen doing his work.
Wife: Did you know that you have rice behind your head?
Husband: (silence)
Wife: But why is there rice behind your head??
Husband: (silence)
Wife: Really, how on earth did rice get behind your head?!!
Husband: (turns his head, stares at wife, returns gaze to his work)
Wife: You do know that if it falls off that there'll be a gathering of ants?
Husband: (silence)
Wife: That's not very nice, having these ants.
Husband: (nudges wife out of the room)
I love being married. It's so great to find a special someone I can annoy for the rest of my life.

Where's Noah
ACCK! It's pouring this morning and I don't want to get out of bed but I have lots to think about this morning so I'm early to rise. It seems the phrase pouring cats and dogs was coined because in early century England, where the streets were filthy, dead animals would be washed up the streets during a downpour. I am grateful that this doesnt happen here, well, I hope it doesn't. Now I have to go to work. I was hoping the ark would come by, would love to catch a ride. Where's Noah when you need him?

Collage
I'm trying to get use to Windows Vista and discovered I could do this! A collage of my earrings. Like it? But to tell you the truth, the new windows isn't free from bugs and strange things happen like an unexpected shut down when I'm the middle of writing my email. I should have just stuck to the older version but was told that with my new operating system, I needed to have the new windows. I'm not exactly a 'techno savy' person so I thought I'd just trust that the sales person knew what he was talking about. Still getting use to the features- it's like coming home and finding that all your furniture has been rearranged.

Dragonfly
I managed to capture a pic of a red dragonfly today at lunch time, how cool is that! I held my breath as I approached it and at the same time prayed it wouldn't fly straight at me! Then snap!
Here's another shot of a larger one, I was hoping to catch a frontal shot but it was too busy flying back and forth. I've always thought that there was something mystical about dragonflies. According to Wikianswers, dragonflies are often represented in Japanese paintings as new light and joy. To some, they are the souls of the dead and some say that they used to be real dragons! If you have the dragonfly as your symbol, you have had emotional and passionate early years, but as you get older you achieve balance with the mental and emotional.
Pretty cool.

Tarot card
You are the Hanged ManSelf-sacrifice, Sacrifice, Devotion, Bound.
With the Hanged man there is often a sense of fatalism, waiting for something to happen. Or a fear of loss from a situation, rather than gain.
The Hanged Man is perhaps the most fascinating card in the deck. It reflects the story of Odin who offered himself as a sacrifice in order to gain knowledge. Hanging from the world tree, wounded by a spear, given no bread or mead, he hung for nine days. On the last day, he saw on the ground runes that had fallen from the tree, understood their meaning, and, coming down, scooped them up for his own. All knowledge is to be found in these runes.
The Hanged Man, in similar fashion, is a card about suspension, not life or death. It signifies selflessness, sacrifice and prophecy. You make yourself vulnerable and in doing so, gain illumination. You see the world differently, with almost mystical insights.
What Tarot Card are You?

Abowlofbeads is travelling to a new place this month! They will be settling down at the Malay Heritage centre for about a month or so. This is my first time having my earrings on consignment and it's a foreign thing for me, this 'consignment' but I'm excited at the thought of them meeting new people! I hope all of them will find new homes :)
Abowlofbeads is also going to be at The Bazaar Clark Quay this month so I've been busy since last month getting my act together and also creating new designs. If you like simple everyday wear designs, and happen to be in the Clark Quay area, come by, we'll be there 27/28 Sept, 6pm to midnight.

My aunt's kitty

1. I stare at her when she's at the computer belly up. My belly not hers.
2. I'm cute.
3. I keep her warm in the mornings by snuggling beside her.
4. I'm cute.
5. I entertain myself for hours with just a piece of string.
6. I'm cute.
7. I have irresistible touch-me fur.
8. I'm cute.
9. I give her space when she needs it.
10. I'm cute.

Yes they can dance
I was at Clementi today having my wan ton noodles when I looked across from where I sat and lo behold, there was Spider and Jenny! If you recall, they were the sensational duos at The Dance Floor. I was never a really big fan of the show there but when I first saw Spider and Jenny, I looked out for them from there on and only stopped watching the show when they were booted out. They are one amazing duo!! The flips, twirls, spiral effects, windmill effects were really entertaining. I usually stopped breathing for a full second each time he twirled her around his waist!
As they went about their day, I wondered what it was like when they auditioned and the applause they had recieved from the heartlanders around the area and their fellow cooks there. It must have been wonderful to share a piece of that history then! I heard that they were just two people who met at the dance studio and then became quick friends and ever since she worked as an assistant at his fishball stall. They have their respective spouses who support them in what they do. Now, there's a story waiting to be told.
Just something about people and their passion about their hobby or their job that just puts a smile of admiration on my face.

Stuff to do on Sunday
Today we decided to drop by Holland V just to have a lazy afternoon. We wanted to start lunch at the famous Ragazzi Italian cuisine at Ghim Moh but it was not to be as they only open for dinner during the weekends. Hence still wanting italian food, we decided to try another italian restaurant at the village but was met with dissapointment. Great service, quaint decor, not that great food (not by my standard for restaurant food anyway). What made up for it was my day at Lim's, the place always cheers me up as I feel I can get lost in there forever much like a kid in a candy store.
Then it's tea at Provence. I wished I didn't have lunch already coz they have the chunkiest finger sandwiches there i.e. lots of fillings, the kind that you get to eat in hotels. I can never quite acheive that yumminess when I make them myself. I don't think I can eat another thing today.

Knowledge in a bottle
I came across a bag of 'collectibles' on my husband's table (and believe me, he has several, and over the years, I have decided that it is just easier to see him as a sentimental fellow) and discovered a bag of snapple caps, indeed, knowledge in a bottle. Here's 5 things I've learnt today.
1. The average person spends about 2 years on the phone in a lifetime.
2. When the moon is directly overhead you weigh slightly less.
3. Frogs never drink.
4. A duck's quack never echo.
5.The only food that doesn't spoil is honey.
I will be looking out for the full moon tonight.
