Tinted sky

I am now experimenting with beads and necklaces and enjoying the process of making one. There's a lot that one can do with chains and beads. This particular one is filled with a combination of gorgeous czech glass bead and swarovski pearls and crystals.

A paler shade of purple

Another pretty necklace with clusters of purples which consist of a combination of swarovski crstals and pearls and purple faceted glass beads.

Peach delicacy

I've been having some difficulties with downloading but that doesn't stop me from playing with the colours of my blog page!! I'm also playing around with lights and how to take good photos without natural light. I'll get there one day. I've managed to download one pair and it's pretty clear I haven't quite gotten over my pearl 'phase' of life yet and it's likely to stay for a while :) This time ,clusters of peach fresh water pearls hangs off silver plated stainless steel wires. All else in sterling silver.

Pearlie

I just love pearls becasue I feel they bring elegance to any outfit and they're timeless. They are also symbols of purity, harmony and humility.

These clusters are made of freshwater pearls except for the tiny swarovski pearls in bronze.

Patchwork

Gorgeous czech glass bead with little ornaments of crystals and glass beads. It wasn't easy finding two alike in colours and design! Sterling silver wires and hooks.

A few days ago I was pleasantly surprised by an email from a cousin way back and thought I'd name this after her. The last I had seen her was a few years at my wedding and with weddings, you never get to really catch up with anyone when you're bride and groom and while it was so sweet of her and her family to travel a distance to see us, they had to fly off almost immediately. I'd probably see her 4 to 5 times in my life time so it was a treasure to recieve a mail from her. It's funny how family means so much more to me as I grow older. I think it's got to do with the changes of values and wants that brings with age. Suddenly the world starts getting smaller and we start to re-examine what's important to us. My fondest and probably clearest memory of her was when she was a toddler who fell alseep on my lap on the swings out on the porch one hot afternoon in Ipoh.

Fresh water peach pearls hang on like vines over white faceted quartz. Sterling silver wires and hooks. This picture doesn't quite capture the translucence of the quartz which are prettier in real life.

Sakura

This was taken by a friend Kelly in Vancouver, isn't it gorgeous? Cherry blossoms always give me a feeling of serenity maybe because when in full bloom it reminds me of billowing clouds. However I was told that in Japan, the cherry blossom is suppose to symbolize the transience of life because of their short blooming times (they fall within a week) and the falling flowers are used as metaphors for fallen warriors who died bravely in battle. I guess that's why in the movies or in japanese anime there are associations with the samurai. It seems during the war, Japanese pilots would paint them on the sides of their planes before embarking on a suicide mission and people believed that the souls of the warriors were reincarnated as cherry blossoms. Now it all makes sense how walking through a meadow of fallen blossoms can evoke a feeling of nostagia in me.

I decided to make another pair akin to the original Anita except this time, a dressier one with lots of lavender bubbles!

Shades of purple filled with a combination of swarovski crystals, rondelles, czech glass and separated spacers to give it a complete finish.

Angel vines

I just had to pair these lovely crystal green rondelles with one of my favourite apple greens. Earhooks in sterling silver and balinese caps. A perfect dressy number.

Blue icicles

Beautiful greyish blue czech glass beads hangs off this lovely lace work design.

Crystals in aquamarine with sterling silver ear hooks. Elegance in simplicity.
